Sneaky Little Weeds!
Morning Glories: Love 'em and hate 'em. They are all over my yard and impossible to get rid of. If I am not out there pulling them up every week (which I'm not!) they overtake all of my plants and I swear they can grow several feet of new vines each day. Aw, aren't they pretty though? They're nothing like those ugly mean-looking weeds!
The reason I sorta like them is that I actually enjoy pulling them up when I have the time. Grabbing handfuls of twisted vines and yanking them out can be fun and therapeutic and it sure beats the prickly ones. The other reason I have mixed feelings is this...
I have several spots around my front porch where they somehow figure out how to grow right out of the walls up from under the house. This is below my front window on my porch. I have been meaning to pull it for a while now!
THEN, the other day as I was at the window looking out, I looked down, and it had managed to grow up BETWEEN my window and window sill to the INSIDE of my house! Grrr. How sneaky! But you have to respect them for it--that takes skill!
I am currently keeping an eye on this one...
...because as you can see, it is trying to sneak in the front door! (Maybe I oughta just pull it...)
P.S. This is my 100th post. Whoo Hoo!!

Speaking of Old Boyfriends...

Christmas...In July
Bailey had a fun 1st Christmas surrounded by lots of family in Utah. In fact, we got to see most everyone on my side of the family over the holidays (we missed you Jen, Kyle, and fam!).
She got lots of kisses from her great-grandpa Lasater...

...and had a blast sledding for the first time.

The siblings did a homemade Christmas this year and it was fun getting in touch with our creative sides!
While in Utah, we got to visit our friends from Alabama, the Clarks, and have lunch at my old Thai restaurant. Yum!
Simon is Bailey's old boyfriend and is about 3 months older than her.
Over New Years, we got together with our partners in crime for a 2nd Annual Cabin Adventure. This year we went up to Tamarack and rented a cottage for a few days and had tons of fun. (Okay, adding babies to the mix this time might have cramped our style a tiny tiny bit, but it was still an adventure!)
New Years Eve morning we went out for breakfast and check out the size of those pancakes!

Afterwards, we went on an elk-feeding sleigh ride. It was freezing, snowy, and overpriced but cool enough. (It was more of an informative elk-feed than a sleigh ride). As you can see in the pictures, the Elk come right up and eat the hay off of the back of the sleigh and even the bales you are sitting on.
Brandon tried to make a few friends.
At midnight, we found ourselves in the hot tub sipping cider and shooting fireworks as it snowed on us. How glamorous are we!?
The next morning we looked out to see how much it had snowed. In fact, we got stuck for a while trying to drive out. Good times.
